Police Training by Dr. John Foubert
Dr. John Foubert has been conducting sexual assault prevention training for over 30 years. He has published dozens of peer reviewed articles and several books on the subject of preventing sexual violence. He is the Director and Executive Producer of the Police Rape Training Video, a video in use in numerous police departments, colleges, and the military to help people understand the trauma of rape. Dr. Foubert takes a trauma-informed approach to training.

For police training, Dr. Foubert focuses on how the brain and body react to sexual trauma and how that can impact victim/witness testimony. In particular, he focuses on the different hormones the body secretes during a sexual assault and the impact that can have on memory, affect, information recall, the disposition of survivors, and PTSD.

Dr. Foubert travels nationwide to conduct training, including police training, and is happy to design a training experience for you that will meet the needs of your organization. He is familiar with the Abby Honold Act and the Hold Accountable and Lend Transparency (HALT) on Campus Sexual Violence Act, and can design trainings with those in mind.
